Don’t fall into the trap!

Everyday I find myself shaking my head at how people are being mistreated, not intentional I hope, by our healthcare professionals. I just worked on a young lady with a bulging disc in her low back. She has been to physical therapy and the work she explained they were using was unfortunately working against her. I don’t understand why people want to hold muscles tight for long periods of time, all they are doing are putting them into spasms and cramps making them sore for several days. You should never hold a muscle for more than 2 seconds when stretching. This is why new yoga students become very sore. It’s like the very people we are counting on to teach us about our bodies are also caught up in the old inefficient ways of bodywork. Butch, Sarasota
